Our Programs Build Bridges

The heartbeat of H.I.S. BridgeBuilders-San Antonio is the emphasis we place on building relational bridges ― Starting with a strong and deepening relationship with God, and secondly by developing relationships with each other in our community.  Each activity, event, and program we have is aimed at these growing relationships.

OST/Summer Reading Program

Throughout the school year we run an after-school program, Monday – Thursday, where we provide free tutoring and supplemental instruction to students. During the summer, we shift over to reading and comprehension skills. These programs are focused on building developmental relationships with the youth in our community and their families, helping them excel in school, develop biblical character skills, and one day graduating with the tools they need to fulfill their God given potential in life.

Health Assistance

H.I.S. BridgeBuilders-San Antonio partners with health service providers to bring medical assistance free of charge to our community. During our monthly block parties, free eye exams are provided with the use of equipment stored in our facilities, and through the service of volunteer ophthalmologists.

Community Evangelism

The greatest need in our communities is spiritual. Many individuals and families have no knowledge of Jesus or the gospel. We equip and send out evangelism teams to pray, disciple, and provide resources to meet the physical and spiritual needs of our community, one home at a time.

Neighborhood Outreach

Every month, H.I.S. BridgeBuilders-San Antonio hosts a neighborhood wide gathering to bring together and meet the needs of our community. Free food, clothing, medical exams, and other needed resources are freely distributed. Games, face painting, popcorn, snow cones, etc., are provided as we celebrate, together, what God is doing in our midst. Depending on the month, specific giveaways are done to help best serve our community. During August, we pack and distribute several hundred backpacks filled with school supplies, in November we give away Thanksgiving meal packages for families to take home, and in December we package and pass out hundreds of Christmas presents to children in need. At the end of every event, a gospel message is preached by pastors from our partner churches.
